Your Doctor Wants Testing Before She’ll Write Anything

She wants a document.

So the thing you hoped to settle in a 15-minute appointment came back to you as a referral instead.

Or nobody referred you at all.

You’ve been building the case yourself out of articles, forum threads, and other people’s symptom lists.

The theory is good by now.

Confirming it is the part you can’t do from your side.

What You’re Describing Is Hard

It got harder when the job and the children arrived at the same time.

Nobody tested you as a girl. This gets missed in high-achieving girls.

Wanting the name of the thing is reason enough to come in.

Dr. Medley Hands You the Report Herself

Every ADHD evaluation at Sageberry is conducted by Dr. Medley, from intake through the final appointment.

That last appointment is an hour with the finished report open in front of both of you. She goes through it in plain English, at whatever pace it takes for you to say it back in your own words.

Then it’s yours to hand to the people who have been asking you for it.

Bring Your Child, Your Teenager, or Yourself

Dr. Medley evaluates children, teens, and adults. Children and teens test in the New Albany office, always.

For them, the intake is mostly with you because early developmental history is where the pattern first shows itself.

Adults are tested in the office or via video.

Virtual adult ADHD testing is available in most states.

Some people arrive with an attention question and an autism question attached to each other.

Bring both.
